  Gregorio Garrido

Gregorio Garrido began dancing tango early in his teen ages in Santiago, Chile, and continued later on with various Argentinean teachers in Buenos Aires. Now he is living in Europe, and working as a dancer, choreographer and teacher all over the world.

His way of dancing remarks itself with a unique sense of dynamics, understanding of rhythm, agility and presence. His principal educational theme is working with maintaining one's own axis, control of positions and mastering of space.

The idea behind the material here presented is to amplify and develop some of the many possibilities the Argentinean Tango contains, and at the same time to strengthen your own dancing technique.

The ultimate wish is to achieve a purified style of technique in harmonious relation with the different positions, always knowing how to lead with security and improvisation..

Stefani K.

"TANGO  is an instant connection  to a gamut of human emotions, from sadness to joy,  toughness to tenderness and sensuality to creativity.

It's a unique experience to share all these feelings through dance with an other person"

Her love affair with painting started when she was in junior high school back in Cologne, Germany.   She derived her objects of inspiration from Jimmy Hendrix and Janice Joplyn whom she painted in many ways. She was into painting intermittently as a student on art markets in Germany, earning her money for her Asian trips. She also did aquarelle painting for many years which she exposed in her home town  Galleries .

Although her original ambition was to go to arts school she changed her mind to become an architect instead. She then combined her talent on painting with her interior design projects such as restaurants, shops, hotels and private homes. As an Interior designer and furniture contractor she was involved in many prestigious projects in Bali like Pertamina Cottages, Bali Sol Hotel, The Four Seasons , CLub Mediterrane,  Amandari , Hyatt Bali  and many more.

Later in her career she built her own boutique style Hotel, Villa Kresna- Tropical Resort and Sunset Village , a fulfillment of a long cherished dream and aspiration.

The demands of career and motherhood caused her to temporarily drop-out of painting because of time constraint.

She got into the world of tango because of a tennis elbow that forced her to drop out of her favorite sport. She became so enamored by the dance and its’ music that she went to Buenos Aires thrice in 2005,2006 and 2007 to learn and know more about the Argentine tango.

She is the founder  and moving spirit behind the TANGO BALI CLUB and was instrumental to the introduction of the Argentine Tango to the People in the "island of the Gods".

In the last three years, she continued learning tango from the many great masters such as Roberto Herrera,Tamara Bisceglia, Gustavo Naveira, Giselle Anne, Alejandra Hobert, Adrian Veredice, Roberto Reis, Graciella Gonzales, Guillermina Quiroga,  Fernanda Ghi, Guillermo Merlo,Facundo Gil Jauergui, Bruno Tombari, Anibal Montenegro, Margarita Klurfan , Walter Cardozzo, and many more she learned with.

With the passion and dedication she has shown, she now runs her  regular workshops and practicas in Bali and in Jakarta, where she is currently  co-teaching  with Ogie Mendoza.

In between her busy schedule as an artist, organizer, tango teacher  and  mother, she has designed and built her recent master piece, Casa Artista, a 9 bedroom private villa which she designed as an artist’s guest house (visit   www.casaartistabali.com) .

For three consecutive years now, she has been featured as a leading artist in Tangoxposed where she was made to showcase her artistic talent to fore. She made her debut as an international artist in Singapore in 2006 and Jakarta in 2007.

Tangoxposed once again welcomes Stefani K. to present her 2008 collection together with other upcoming artists in "a cocktail of passion".

Aylin Kanginnadhi, an unseen obsession.

Born in 1983 to a German mother and an Indonesian father, she would often

sit quietly and paint with her mother who is a celebrated painter in her own
right.

Aylin grew up in Bali before moving to Jakarta and then Australia where she
lived, studied and worked for 5 years. At the age of 20 she graduated  with
a Hospitality Management degree from Central Queensland University.

After graduation she went back to Bali and was one of the the creative force
behind the birth of Tango Bali Club in 2005.

She travelled to Buenos Aires in 2005 where she together with her
mother discovered more about the magic of the Argetnine Tango.

Her free spirit and thirst for the art took her to Berlin where she gained a formal training in Painting and Drawing at the Atelier Simone Weck.

She also had the chance to work at the prestigious Tate Gallery in London.
(www.tate.uk.com) where she gained more substantial exposure to fine arts.

Aylin's works are passive - aggressive, always pushing and pulling, at the
core, an unseen obsession.

Herself a certified tango enthusiast, she seeks
to investigate the emotional confusion of every dancer.

In this solitude, I remember the time when mad romanticism blinded my soul.
Only, of course, I didn't see this - because my eyes were looking in
on myself in sickening narcissism and self pity.
As I went from Berlin to Belgium to London, from fabric to paint to
shutter release, I have undergone a major surgery of the spirit.
Something inside of me broke, yet it made me feel as if I was becoming
complete, as if I became pregnant with beautiful prophecies.
There is no more room for self adoration and melancholy.

I hope I haven't made you even more confused.
(From A Letter to A Friend, London 2008)

TANGOXPOSED is pleased to welcome Aylin Kanginnadhi in her first public
